I'd be up for it... But if I personally got anyone but Belle I'd be rather surprised!

Well, it seems to work well the way it's done on the Cats board on musicals.net. Basically there's a thread for votes, to vote you have to fill out your cast list, and you are only allowed to leave a couple of blanks. There's a separate thread where you can nominate yourself and chat about the votes, describe your personality, which character you think suits yourself. After the 2 week voting period is up, the votes are tallied up, and the forum cast is announced! Then you have that casting for 6 months, before the whole thing is done again. To avoid any arguments there's one person giving the final say when it comes to vote ties etc. Do we have enough active members to fill out the cast? I think we might do...
Tho one interesting thing this past Cats casting, was that you were discouraged from nominating yourself for any particular character, just describing your personality and letting other people cast you. Jeremy here got cast as Tugger - very apt, in my opinion - and I, randomly, ended up as Tantomile! While I love Tant dearly, I'm not sure I really am a demure, mystical character... ah well!

Is it like auditioning for the roles, or seeing which character you are most like? I was at a Cats forum where people auditioned for roles and was named as Demeter. I'm not entirely sure if this is different, or the same thing. Sounds interesting, though

the musicals.net Cats board version doesn't have you audition as such, no... you just write up a description of yourself, your personality, strengths and weaknesses, likesand dislikes.
I think if we have people auditioning for roles, we'll have 20 applicants for Dinah, and no-one interested in Poppa. I prefer the system where the person casting has complete freedom to put whoever they want in any role.

The one I was at asking things such as height, weight, dance skills, flexibility, stuff like that...
Would people be allowed to say who they would want to be? As long as one person (or a small group) is making the decision?

As long as one person (or a small group) is making the decision? I don't think we need to consider who is best physically suited to the roles! Starlight is such fantasy, we can consider that aspect of it online... Well, in the past on the Cats board you were encouraged to say who you wanted to be - and that meant a lot of people went through and just gave people what they asked for without thinking who suits that role best. Since there's not that many of us here, I think we should not ask for a role, just leave it to see what people think of you! I think we should do this - and start at the beginning of September. What do you all think?

;D
since things like dolls are so VERY popular, I can't see why you couldn't post a doll of yourself as your audition "photo"
even your Giaia Avitar? of somthing.
