My 17 year old cat, Cleo, is quite ill, and I don't know if she's going to be okay. Her health has been going downhill for a while now, and now she's having trouble breathing, and generally doesn't seem well at all. Dad's booked a vet appointment for her for later, but I don't know if she's going to get better this time. I'm really worried about her! (Sorry if this seems like quite a pointless post, I just needed somewhere to vent, and my sister and Dad are worried enough as it is.)

Don't worry about posting it here. Cats are important.

*hugs* I'm sorry... I hope she's going to be ok. Just give her all the hugs and pettings she'll take. Cats are people, not *just* pets. I'm sure she knows you love her!
I know the worry when an elderly cat gets unwell - we have an 18 year old and a 21 year old, neither particularly strong. I've got Kitty sleeping in the sunshine next to me right now, she's not going to be with us forever (but the amount of fine white fluff she sheds, she'll never leave us completely!) but I know that in the time we've had her, she's had everything we can give her, and a good life.
Venting is no problem! It's vital. We're here and understand!

I love my cats and I'm sure you love her too.She will know that. She will be fine. Venting is good everyone needs to let it out and here is a good place!

Thanks for the support. Thankfully she's been to the vet now, and they said that the breathing trouble was just to do with her glands being up, and while she's a little under the weather she'll be fine. She seems brighter already, and is well enough to go back to harrassing my dogs!

Glad to hear it, Tanto! *hugs and cuddles* We used to have two cats, Bonnie and Clyde...Clyde died when I was pretty young, of Lieukimea (sp), I'm afraid to say, but Bonnie had to have been at least 19...and a good lazy life she had My parents haven't yet been persuaded to let us have cats again...but we live and hope ^.^ Anyway, best wishes for Cleo and you, Tanto!
