So, Proboards informs me that forum upgrading is a thing that's going to happen. I don't think the board will go down in the process, but it might do... I expect it'll turn rather generic looking and different, before I get a chance to play with the settings.
Thinking of settings, there's currently 2? 3? different formats. I can't even remember. I use the pastel/purple settings, there's also the black and red... what do people prefer? What does this board look like to you?

I use and prefer the red/black. However, I'm more concerned with whether or not I'll be able to get online on my mobile (not iPhone or Android)... My experience with beta forums have been both.

I've upgraded my forum with no real trouble beyond loss of some old coding in the header/footer area. all my skins have remained the same pretty much though i did have to reload/upload my forum's picture. I'm using the Starlight UK skin here. also, the avatars on my site remained the same after upgrading. you also lose the "spell check" function, or at least I've not found it in the new version yet. the other thing, all Proboards Forums that I'm on so far that have been upgraded allows you to have one user name/pw for all of them once you link them together under the global account. you just log into one forum, and if you want to be on others, just hit log in button and it auto-logs on for you. hope this helps you, Belle.  |
