Well, this year's Open Day is proving near impossible for a lot of people, to the point where I'm thinking it's not worth going on my own! So, instead, I'd rather save my money and go on holiday with more friends later in the summer.
What I am hoping to do is get out to Germany at the VERY end of August. I'm planning a bit of a theatre trip - I am planning on flying out on Friday 28th August, staying in Bochum. Then over the weekend, spend one day in Oberhausen and see Tanz der Vampire, the other day spend in Bochum and see Starlight, then head home Monday. I'd like to do more, and be there longer, but that depends entirely on getting more money. Monday 31st August is the bank holiday...
Anyone interested in joining me on this jaunt? I assume everyone on this board is at least passingly familiar with the German production of Starlight Express (RAY SHELL AS POPPA!!!) and if you don't know Tanz der Vampire, then you need to go play with Youtube and look up the awesomeness that is those Vampires! However if you want to come out, see the trains, but vampires are really not your thing, there's nothing to say you shouldn't spend both days at Starlight and we'll meet up before and after shows- or vice versa if you just want the blood suckers and not the trains!
As ever with trips like this, the earlier we can book the better - I believe Easyjet are advertising a sale at the moment so flights to Cologne might be a little cheaper if booked soon. I'll look into hotels, flights and theatre tickets and post more later, but I'm hoping to do the trip for under £300.
So. Who's with me?
