Hi! So the other week I phoned up Jersey Boys to book tickets for me and mum, and they put me on hold. For a moment, I was excited to hear what rock and roll delights they had in store for me....until this played down the phone. " Come to me, Cosette, the light is fading Don't you see the evening star appearing?" I blinked at the phone.... ...On what planet is it a logical decision to make the on-hold music for Jersey Boys - a fabulous HAPPY (mostly...), good feel factor show - a song from Les Miserables? And not just ANY song either! Fantine's Death! One of the most depressing songs (in my opinion) in the entire show! It was hilarious though....it took a lot of effort go into hysterics when the nice young man came back on the phone and apologised for the wait. Anyone else got any tales of really random/inappropriate on-hold music? Doesn't have to be theatre based either! Anything you can think of. (Infact....they don't HAVE to be genuine. If you can think up a real hypothetical corker, feel free to post it, but just let us know it's made up ) Looking forward to reading what you come up with! ;D

I imagine the CD was just cycling through, which is why it was on Fantine's Death. I remember calling the theatre I worked at and being put on hold with Blood Brothers, I think, or some musical that wasn't to be shown for at least a few months to come, and certainly had nothing to do with what I was ringing up to ask about. Theatre fail.

*nodnod* I reckon that's right yeah, but I wouldn't've thought it was beyond the wit of man to remove the really depressing numbers from the CD lol!
And that really is a pretty special theatre fail right there ;D
