Now that the nights are drawing in and the rain is upon us (grr!) the long summer days of skating in Hyde park are nearly over! i have come across a site called www.bardybardy.com its a skating shop with a link to a roller disco in Chiswick, London, i dont know how good it is (or indeed if anyone is remotely interested) but im game for a giggle and a skate so thought id try it in the next few weeks....only cos the rollerdisco at Bagleys is too far from surrey on a friday night!! anyway thought id share! elsie xx |

Ehhhhhh, it sounds like our old roller disco, that closed about 2 weeks after StEx... well, what they had was an under 12s and family disco early, then a 12+ disco after, where you were expected if not to skate well, to at least be predictable so people could avoid you. There were some very good skaters there! They still run the "Family" disco, but it's not worth trying to skate in there with anklebites lurching everywhere - and if you squish them, it's YOUR fault!
Wow, I'm loving this site... custom skates! hehehe, yeti boots into skates, that must've been a challenge. I bet they'd make WICKED New Rock skates.
Skate supplies in English! Fabulous! Now I just need to figure out specifically what we need...

hmmm, new rock boots into skates *drools*, may even consider buffalo boots into skates type thing!
i need new stoppers i know that much!
im going to try and go to the roller disco next week if my muscles will let me after dance class on saturday!
will let you know if its worth it!

Absolute suckage - their updates page says they've lost their venue for the roller disco, so until they find a new place, no skating! Still selling stuff tho...  |

i will be trying out rollerdisco @canvas (Bagleys) either this friday or in a few weeks time, i think its gonna be a good night out, will give a full report when i have recovered!
*starts browsing for funky coloured toe stoppers*

How is one supposed to learn to skate these days? Hang around the back of a shopping centre?
