Mazz, Jared and I are all fine... the attacks seem to have centred on the north/eastern half of the circle line. While there are some horriffic images of the bus that was blown up (they're made of tinfoil!), it seems overall there hasn't been as many serious casualties as you'd expect from a full-scale, coordinated terrorist attack on london.
All the emergency disaster protocols etc have swung into place, so a lot of resources are being monopolised by the emergency services, particularly the mobile phone networks, understandably are getting overloaded. Also, apparently half the network is reserved for emergency services in an emergency, so there's less than normal capacity combined with thousands of calls from people saying "I'm alright, mum!" so getting through is not easy. Also, there is no transport AT ALL in central london, and everyone is being advised to not travel.
Which is a shame, as Jared's passport is sitting, waiting to be collected, in the passport office in Victoria.... he's COMING to germany!

I knew there was an advantage to having no time for a life, I don't get caught up in things like that.
If you are trying to get through to people in London you might be better to text their mobile/ cell phones. Capitol Gold (radio station for those who are none the wiser) were saying texts are getting through much more easily than phone calls. Also be aware that a lot of the mobile phone transmitters are down due to the blasts and sudden surge in use and some land lines were taken out by the blasts, just because you can't get through doesn't mean the worst has happened.
Hope you are all unaffected by this.

Breathes a Sigh of relief. Imagine my horror when they metioned it on the radio as I was going to work this morning. I worried all day and was horrified when the phones wouldn't work.
You'd mentioned going to get Jared's passport in aim, and Memphis had said it was her birthday, I was positive you all had been out! GAH~!
I'm happy to come home, and see everyone is okay.
Memphis, Call my mom and let her know you and everyone is alright when you can. poor woamn is practically mental with worry over you. You should hear her today, Like she lost her daughter or somthing.
She loves you gurl! As do I! All of you, I guess even Jared. ;D
seriously! DON'T SCARE ME AGAIN! You guys are ALL I HAVE in the way of friends, I loose you all, I loose half my peeps! NOT GOOD!
And to loose my bride to be! GAH~!
Love you loads! ~Bean

We're all fine... Your mom emailed me early this afternoon to check up on how we all were. Given that most people viewed a big terrorist attack on london as inevitable, just a matter of time, I don't think it's been as bad as it could have been. There's a lot of confusion still, mainly WHY did they target the places they did- did the bombs even go off where they were intended? But the emergency services all swung into action so smoothly, they've been rehearsing for much bigger and worse attacks- biological weapons etc, the reports have all been that it's all been kept very much under control. Personally, however, on a sub-reasoning level, I'm not gonna be able to use the underground for some time... only in the past couple of years had I overcome my phobia of being trapped underground by humans. I'll stick to buses or walking round town! Victoria to Trafalgar square is a delightful walk through St. James' Park.
