My may trip is to get some info at City University (thinking about doing a masters there), but as a non-native speaker, I have to prove I understand the language first... .....no...mustn`t.....say.....grrr.....too...strong...can`t ...resist...must...say...... That`s just what Jouley has to do as well!!!!! ;D Sorry joules I tried SSSOOOO hard not to say that but the urge was just too great. I love American accents ....I do...well some. My wife`s from Louisville, Kentucky so I get a country one ALL day! LOL

*blink blink* but Atco's not a native ENGLISH speaker.. I'm assuming thats what they meant.. being from Belgium and all.. I myself, speak English. You may say it's American English, but it's the English language all the same. And i dont have no kentucky drawl, thank you.. im from NY, and even my Ny accent dissapoints.. Anyone from NY would know im from Long Island, because THAT accent is heavy, but no one else would ever pick up on it and just think ive a weak NY accent.. i do pick up on british accents though i try not to.. Rocky: "Say hi to my friend on the phone!!" Me: "What?" Rocky: "No! that's a british accent!! say something american!" Me: "Whaaawwwwwwtttt?" slight paraphrasing there.. but hee.. Jouley

You may say it's American English, but it's the English language all the same. ;D sorry Joules...I was carrying on the banter I get here from my American collegues about me not speaking English. My biggest retort is that we gave Americans the language and they STILL can`t get it right ;D Anyhoo, I like NY accents. I`ve loads of NY friends and even dated a few.....in fact I first heard the phrase "Sketchy" from one of them. Not about me! Mind you, she put the words Cabana after it which confused me for a while. It became almost like a W.C Fields impersonation...Sketchy Cabana Is that a local version or was it just something they picked up on the tour? As for my wifes Kentucky one....let`s just say most people when they`re besotted with their partner are meant to hear strings and orchestras...I hear Banjos She`d kill me for saying that!!!!
