Wow! Lots to take in there great info, advice and video thanks jeremy! I've inherited my cousins skates which are in pretty good condition and haven't really been used so I haven't stopped skating! All week! ;D I'm not to bad at skating now I've remebered how too do it been at it all week and weekend, though now my toe stops are wrecked and need replacing which as jeremy said is easy enough I just can't really be bothered. I have fell over 24 times this week skating!(I now it's sad I counted!) In my defence I was on the most rough concrete floor imagineable! An I was trying too do things with no guidence that I have never attempted before! *trys to make herself feel better* But it was worth it.... I can do spins now *Smiles feeling proud of myself* ;D While on this sort of topic.... The advice on wrist guards n stuff I still wear them just to be sure as my friend fractured his wrist falling skating and I don't fancy doing that! Hope you keep going Ceri! I'm sure you'll just get better and better an then be great! Thanks again jeremy you seem too be the grand master of skating round here!

Wow, fabulous Retro video! Anyone else recognise those kneepads in the first shot from another discussion here? Great advice on how to check your skates. It's worth mentioning that buying skate supplies in person in the UK is very difficult to find suppliers. But ordering online is not so bad if you know what you need! I gotta back up the support for wrist braces and kneepads. One of my favourite Dinahs, Irene Warren, broke her wrist in a fall onstage, and the coaches' costumes don't include wrist guards. Irene hurt herself so badly she had to quit the show. So, look after your wrists! And kneepads will save you SO much in new jeans/trousers/pants/skin. ok they don't look GREAT, but it's worth it! I recently found this skate forum - www.serpentineroad.com/forum/ It seems like they're almost all bladers, but they might have useful UK advice? Also, I'm planning a skate/picnic in Hyde Park weekend after next, hopefully, if people can make it then. Anyone from here interested?

Yes, Hyde Park is in the centre of London, a gorgeous huge green space in the middle of the city. That forum is named after the main skating stretch of road in the park - tho we habitually picnic at the end nearest Hyde Park Corner, as it's a bit quieter and less intimidating! There's some amazing skaters who play around there, and plenty - PLENTY - of beginners!

I'm not sure which brand my blades are, as they're at home and I'm currently at school... I'll let you know when I find out.
Hopefully I can do some blading this summer. I really don't have a chance to at college.

Skater picnic sounds cool! Is Hyde Park very skater friendly? I only know it's speaker friendly!
Will be in London that weekend actually, but to see Wicked/celebrate my birthday belatedly. (will finally make it to the Apollo Victoria, even if not to see my favourite show!)
