I was browsing Youtube and came across this awesome band , Tokio Hotel. Now, they're new to me as i live in the US. But, apparently they're really big ion the UK, and their US album releases in just under a week! *coughIalreadypre-orderedcough* . I'm so excited! I just wanted to know if any of you guys know of Tokio Hotel and are fellow fans.

Well, it's a German band and I guess everybody here knows them, but I gotta say that the majority of people rather mocks their appearance and so on...
Their music may be not bad, but there're quite a lot of people making fun of them... Me, I thought the singer was a woman for several months... XD
Interesting to hear an opinion from someone who isn't from Germany (not even from Europe), I already heard they were kind of popular in some other countries, but never hear it from someone in particular...

I have heard of them....and I have seen pretty.... PRETTTTTTYYY pictures....but other than that I don't know anything about them.

Sorry I've been gone, but I see some discussion has commenced in my absence ^_^. I'm not trying to empress my view upon anyone else, so please don't take this as a "You better like Tokio Hotel, or you can STFU" thread...i'm not like that. I was just curious as to whether any of you guys were fans...as TH has apparently taken Europe by storm. The U.S. is next ^_^.

Like the others, I'm reaaaallly not a fan of Tokio Hotel. Apparently they even made it in France. And if they're going to be big in the US, that's quite an achievement as well. I guess soon Germany won't just be Rammstein land but Rammstein & Tokio Hotel land.
Still, if they make German music in general more popular, why not?

I used to listen to TH quite a lot. I even put the band into part of my Media coursework! But I don't listen to them much now because of C.B's "Wide Smile" song.  |

I happen to have taken quite an interest in the group after my past room mate got me into them  In fact, it's a big coincidence that you made this site, as I just showed up to ask/beg/plead one of my German friends here if anyone would possibly be able to purchase one of their cds and send it to me. I can send the equivilant of what it is worth back - I'm just not sure how to get my money exchanged. I got their English release here, but unfortunately that's all that IS here. It was rediculously cheap as well, despite having more songs on it then most albums here do. If someone would like to help me, please do get in touch I don't see any other way for me to get a hold of their music. lol, from everyone's replies here, it sounds like Tokio Hotel is the equivilant to our Hanson back several years ago. Some big hits, but their appearance was made fun of and, in later years, it was supposedly embarassing to have ever been a fan of them. What is it with me and bands where guys look like girls??... |
